		<title>My newest Fine Arts piece...Whatcha Got?</title>

		<content type="html">I've been invited to submit two of my fine arts pieces to a very prestigious Western Art Show in Pendleton, Oregon which is for women artists only, so in between book illustrations, I just completed this mixed media painting (guache and prismacolor).&amp;nbsp; This painting is based on a photo I took of a young cowgirl in Nevada,&amp;nbsp; the daughter of the woman who runs the equine therapy center that Mary Jean Kelso contributes to from her Andy and The Albino Horse royalties.&amp;nbsp; The horses were following Amanda around because she had a bag of Chex snacks.&amp;nbsp; "Elvis" the horse really wanted some of those snacks!&lt;br&gt;&lt;img src="http://images.quickblogcast.com/8/9/6/2/1/120740-112698/whatchagot.jpg?a=1"&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt; &lt;/div&gt;&lt;br&gt;</content>

		<title>K.C. Meets the Governor of Nevada</title>

		<content type="html">&lt;FONT size=3&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #3333c5"&gt;&lt;FONT size=3&gt;&lt;FONT face=Georgia&gt;What an exciting weekend!&amp;nbsp; K.C. just returned from the 26th Annual Western Art Roundup in Winnemucca, Nevada, with a fistful of awards.&amp;nbsp; K.C. swept the categories in Mixed Media and Acrylics winning first, second and third place in both categories.&amp;nbsp; All told she won eight awards including the Indian Heritage Award.&amp;nbsp; &lt;BR&gt;Mary Jean Kelso&amp;nbsp;joined K.C.&amp;nbsp;on Saturday, Sept. 5th., for a successful book signing.&amp;nbsp; Janie Robinson's new GAP book "Preston the Not-So-Perfect Pig" illustrated by K.C. was a real child-pleaser.&amp;nbsp; K.C. is looking forward to the GAP Get-Together and book signing at Barnes &amp;amp; Noble where Janie will be present for their first joint book signing along with seven other GAP authors.&amp;nbsp; And guess what?&amp;nbsp; This novice book writer will have the opportunity to read her book to real live children!!!&lt;BR&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #411cdb"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #411cdb"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #3333c5"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #3333c5"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #3333c5"&gt;&lt;FONT color=#000000&gt;Another&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&amp;nbsp;highlight of the weekend was a visit from Nevada Governor Jim Gibbons.&amp;nbsp; The governor really seemed to enjoy the show and spent quite a bit of time in K.C.'s booth.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;

		<content type="html">&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #8d1ae2"&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;&lt;FONT size=4&gt;Marilee Crow, Claudia Valiquet (my publicist) and I shared a room while participating in the West Coast Authors Premiere at the Santa Barbara County Fair in Santa Maria, California this past week.&amp;nbsp; Sharing the room and the event with Marilee was like meeting with an old cherished friend.&amp;nbsp; Then to add icing to the cake, Sue Berger braved horrible Southern Cal traffic and an overheating car to visit with us at the fair.&amp;nbsp; Lots of laughs and giggles.&amp;nbsp; Great fun!&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;

		<content type="html">&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #c17933"&gt;&lt;FONT size=4&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Every new book I illustrate is my next favorite.&amp;nbsp; Here's the cover for a new children's picture book by Marilee Crow called &lt;EM&gt;A Short Tale About A Long Tail&lt;/EM&gt;.&amp;nbsp; I've been sketching some of the pages to take with me to the West Coast Authors Premiere at the Santa Barbara County Fair in Santa Maria, California where I will be demonstrating illustrating.&amp;nbsp; Marilee and I will be at the fair July 15-19 to sell and sign books.&amp;nbsp; My publicist, Claudia, just finished designing a wonderful book mark along with new business cards and a brochure that will include examples of my fine art as well as illustrations.&amp;nbsp; She will be traveling with me and we are looking forward to a great event.&lt;BR&gt;&lt;BR&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #e8dd2d"&gt;&lt;FONT face=Georgia size=4&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #32a8e3"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #e8dd2d"&gt;&lt;FONT face=Georgia size=4&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #4babe5"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #e8dd2d"&gt;&lt;FONT face=Georgia size=4&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #32a8e3"&gt;&lt;SPAN style="COLOR: #dc1221"&gt;&lt;FONT face=Georgia size=4&gt;Fred and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary this weekend.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;Early Friday morning, our son, Steve and his family (with my two grandkids) arrived from Utah.&amp;nbsp; That afternoon, we went as a family and had our professional portraits taken, then we had dinner at Shoji's (Teppanyaki-style Japanese restaurant) in Bend, Oregon.&amp;nbsp; My little granddaughter cried when she saw the flames rise up from the grill at first, but eventually she started to smile and laugh.&amp;nbsp; The food was wonderful.&amp;nbsp;Then my family hosted&amp;nbsp;a reception on Saturday at our church&amp;nbsp;for friends, family and fellow church members.
